Well, since you were close to the end of the bag it is possible that something got into the food after it was opened. I know it sounds gross, but we see this all the time on the farm in our feed. If it was in there prior to opening the bag I think you would have noticed it before the end. Also, I don't know what kind of larvae you found, but if it can be identified, you can check the lifecycle of the insect and compare that to how long it takes to go through a bag of food. For instance, some eggs takes 10 days to hatch. If you've had the food for 10 days it was there after purchase. If there are babies and adults, then the cycle is ongoing. Just some things to consider.
