My Piper had Legg Perthes Disease. When she was 8 months old I noticed that she was carrying her hind leg off and on. After about a week of this off and on leg carrying I brought her to the vets. X-rays showed a deteriotating of the femur head with bone chips flotting in the hip socket. Piper had FHO surgery within the week. Healing took a good 6-8 weeks before she was 100%.
