Glad to hear Jovi's spay went well and that you will be bringing her home. Did the doctor mention a pain med? I would definitely bring home a med for pain, and they help keep the pup quiet (what I had for Max is actually an anti-inflammatory, but it helps with pain).
I held Max a lot or sat with him to keep him calm. When I couldn't hold him, I kept him in his xpen and verbally encouraged him not to jump.
