I think she'll act normal outside, but it will be your responsibility to keep a very close eye on her while she's outside, b/c male dogs can track her scent from miles away, and will attempt to get to her! The heat cycle usually lasts about on average 21 days, and some people say their little ones get moody, and have other strange behaviors. Mine did not, she was normal, just constantly licking herself. I would advise you to buy some little puppy diapers, you can get them at petsmart. She will be spotting throughout the cycle.
