I am trying to find a picture online of the one I use. It has a safety bar on it where the nail butts up against, so when you put it over their nail, it can only cut off a very small amount at one time, no fear of cutting off too much or going to the quick with a small slip. I hit my Bichons' quick ONE time (he screamed, I cried!) and swore I would never do that again to any of my babies, lol. AprilLoves' nails are soooo freeekin tiny and all black, it is hard to tell where the quick is, so this is the best way for me. Also, on the dark nails, when you start to see a dark speck in the middle of the nail where you trimmed it, you are getting close to the quick. Loved learning that one.
