I had one once and it was dreadful. So, yeah, I always feel awful when a pup has one.

On a serious note: I am glad you got him in quickly Cathy. Those things "blossom" quickly and become ulcerated. I have had pups develop ulcers overnight...no warning signs at all. And, if you don't treat them quickly, they often lose their eyesight. I never play with eyes.....straight to the vet with any eye symptoms.
