Hi Everyone,
My husband and I recently were doing some after Christmas shopping and happened to go into one of those mall pet stores. They have a lot of adorable dogs and the place looked pretty clean. There was a dog that they titled as a pure Yorkie. But from looking at the puppy, he looked mixed. For one, he was abnormally large for a puppy that was 5mths old...about 8-9lbs. The face and features didn't look like a pure Yorkie. Is it illegal to call a dog a "Yorkie" if it's mix? We tried to ask the associates there and they said they think it was if it says so on the glass. The sales people were teens working there for the holidays...so I'm not even sure if they know about where the dogs come from. Just curious on how pet stores label dogs and is there any laws about it.
