Congrats on your new puppy! How exciting. I'm sure he will bring you tons of joy.
As for the appetite issue in the morning, I'd watch that closely and if his appetite is down, a trip to the vet would be needed. Loss of appetite in dogs is usually pretty concerning to vets.
