This is very normal. Joey's almost 5 and he just started recently obeying me. They are very playful, and stubborn, sometimes they really don't know what you mean, and other times they are just stubborn. I think too many people use too many words to train, use one or two words for training, and use a voice in which you are commanding the dog to do something, not asking if she wants to do something. That's the hardest part.
