Max did not squint with most of his eye problems, although squinting is typical because bright light is painful when the pup has an ulcer. Some of the other symptoms to look for include: bloodshot eyes, red inner eyelids, pawing at the eye, green or yellow discharge, excessive tearing or watery eyes, colored cloudiness in the eye, and changes in behavior. Some dogs will hide or remove themselves in some way. Max wanted to be closer to me, sit on my lap, and he slept more.
