Heartgard does heartworms alone.
Heartgard Plus adds rounds and hooks.
Interceptor does heartworm, rounds, hooks, and whips.

Both Heartgard and Interceptor are good drugs and I would not hesitate to use either.

The dosing for Interceptor looks more weight appropriate for Yorkies (since it's 2-10 pounds and Heartgard is up to 25 pounds), but actually 1/5 of the dose of Interceptor given is a safe heart dose. The other 4/5 of the dose is what controls intestinal parasites. That by no means indicates that it's okay to split the Interceptor pill into fifths. It's just that what may look like a better dose is really not because a much smaller dose could really be used. However, the safe heart dose isn't available in the US.

I really like Interceptor and Sentinel. We do both here depending on my mood and the weather (no need for Sentinel in the winter).
