And that's what she is trying to tell you.....having a dog means you will be tied down to some degree. I have a dog and a cat but it is the dog that has me more tied down. No more spontaneous weekend trips. With the cat you can get away with an overnighter but not with a dog unless you want to come home to a messy house. However, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I am much older and more settle so I got my little one at the right time in my life. When I was your age, I was always on the go but now I live a more relaxed lifestyle which is perfect for my yorkie.

I would like to commend you on your thoughtfulness. I wish others would take the time to research before making the decision to have a pet.
Maybe then we would have fewer homeless and abused animals.
