Does his bowl move around while he is eating out of it? In the past, dogs that I have had, push their bowls around if they have wet food and it gets stuck to the sides of the bowl. This could cause your pup some concern if this is what happens?
Try putting a rubber place mat under the bowl or getting a bowl with a rubber bottom edge that is made just for this purpose and keeps it from moving around. A heavy towl, folded and placed under it might also help.
Also, back in the day, my mother-in-law used some very old cereal bowls that smelled of cholrox to me and the smell and taste put me off of my breakfast. Not saying you have used this, but check out what is different from the last time he used it and now, what if anything is different in the way it looks, smells, 'behaves',(like if the bowl moved while he ate out of it) or where he is eating from, has something changed?
I hope he gets back to using his bowl soon! |
