How old is your yorkie? I know that most times they don't treat dogs for kennel cough, because its usually not serious. Its best to get a humidifier or make the bathroom nice and steamy and let the dog sit in there, and breath in the steam. Also honey (but not to much) can ease a sore throat. They decided to treat my pup because he is young and has less of an immune system to fight off a cough.

As for Miso I will keep the little angel in my thoughts. My pom had kennel cough not too long ago and it was awful...poor baby never got any sleep with as much as he coughed. He sleeps under our bed so we didn't sleep much either. Hope Miso feels like new soon. |
yea poor boy he was hacking up a lung last night! But that was the first time he had coughed, so I caught it early on. Thank you for your well wishes!
