I 'thought' I had never used mink oil before, until I saw a post by Wylie's Mom this morning and realized that my shampoo - Minksheen - contains mink oil.
I'm still in shock over that realization. Like Ann said in her post, I just assumed the name came from the glossy results it gives the coat. It never once occured to me that minks were suffering to make these products.
Are there mink "farms" where animals are grown for this purpose?
