Gracie does not have problems with ticks but our cats do. Last year was hot and dry and we live in a wooded area that has some tall grass in certain areas. The ticks love that tall grass. I bought Frontline plus for the cats but they would still come home with live engorged ticks on them. No fleas, just ticks. I told the vet that the Frontline was not killing the ticks and she just said it was a very bad year for ticks. I don't walk Gracie where the ticks live but I always check her when we get home anyway. I have to check each cat that comes in the house and go over them with a flea comb. Since we started having so much rain this spring we have hardly had any ticks. I guess they prefer dryer conditions. Only the deer tick carries the Rocky Mountain spotted fever and we don't have them in this area but I can't stand the creepy, nasty things. Have never had a problem with them before last year. I wish they would invent something that will actually kill them.
