Have you treated your house? I know there are the powders and bombs, but I think its best to have a professional come in and spray and get it taken care of.
A family I worked with had 4 dogs and 3 cats and awful ticks. I worked as a nurse there for a year and the problem never went away, the ticks lay eggs in the carpet where they can't be vacuumed up, and they carry some nasty diseases. I got a bite on my leg that has left a large scar.
I hope that the tick problem gets better, I know how frustrating it can be!
