I have a flexible schedule but some days I will be gone at least eight hours. I am debating if I want to crate train or just put my yorkie in my kitchen with baby gates and potty pads. But I am wondering if any of you out there have trained your yorkies to use potty pads and go outside?
I am trying to figure out if it is best to pick one method over the other or if both ways of training could work?

There are many threads on this specific training method, in summary YES you can dual potty train your pup. Mine is dual trained, he goes on the pads when I'm not home or it's awful weather. I think it's the easiest method as long as you are consistent.
