I struggle to come to this section. Not because I want to turn the other cheek, but because, oh so many reasons. Many of these stories bring up horrible childhood memories for me, and it is very emotional. I don't know what the answers are for the shelter animlas, obviously stricter laws on puppy mills would be a great start, or foreign countries, but I do believe stricter laws and prosecution for abuse in our country has come a long way. I know many animals would have been spared from my childhood at the hands of neighborhood bullies, and I doubt my horses would have had to suffer bb and shot gun pellets embedded in their buttocks, if we had had the laws we do today, back then.
Even still, one case is one too many.
