Meet Abby and Max Hi All -
Abby and Max came home with me last Thursday. So far this is the best staycation vacation ever! I added two pics of Abby and Max. Abby is the smaller one and has the darker face. I have well over 100 pics of them now, mostly when they are asleep or individually - they are super fast. They both have their own little personalities and attitudes. So far the potty training is going well all things considered. If Max is having a good day, Abby is off and vice versa.
When I put them in their puppy area (master bathroom with puppy beds, open door crate, potty pads, food, water and a few safe toys) Abby seems to know it is time for a rest. Max, well, he has decided it is a time to wail like a baby dinosaur. I can see them from my bed when I sit up so I can take a peek at them during the night. Abby is sound asleep - Max is sitting in his bed complaining and acting like it is the worse thing ever. (I can hear him fussing on and off right now - he is not at the gate to get out, he is just fussing.)
I have moved my wake up time from 5:30 am to 4:45 am to have time with them in the morning. Since I leave for work at 7:00 am, this will give me a little time with them before I leave. Seems to be working out - so far they have been crashing around 6:45am.
They are going to the vet in about an hour to meet the vet and get looked over. No shots today.
I have started spending a little time with each of them on their own. So far it has only been about 10 minutes at a time. Max could care less as long as I am around, Abby is fine until she hears Max fussing and then looks for him.
I had a friend meet them on Sunday (she will be watching them from time to time). Max was all tough and gave two dinosaur barks and then growled - it was hard not to laugh out loud. When she came into the living room, he ran almost to her and then ran back to me to cuddle - too funny. Abby, she just sat on her bed watching. While we talked, Max found the courage to go say hi. Abby eventually got up and went to say hello. It is good to have friends who love dogs and get the hesitation around new people.
Thanks for all of the feedback and comments about getting two dogs at once. They are definitely a handful, but well worth the effort. |
