I can relate to the 14 year old also, my brother got divorced several years ago and his daughter lived with her mom. She found a kitten that she really wanted, it was a stray. She talked her dad into keeping it for her, mom said no, so now she is 18 and my brother is stuck with the cat. Daughter is off to college. |
Many thanks. I don't think Samantha caused my son's asthma attacks, but he hasn't had any problems since she's been with me, so it is a possibility. He loves her, but knows she would be better off with someone that has more time for her. My granddaughter will be hurt and maybe mad at her dad and me, but she will understand as she gets older. The dog was her mom's idea in the first place, but she doesn't want to be bothered with Sammy now. She's talking about getting rid of the cat they have now and getting a black lab. Now that's just what they need in an apartment! She's one of these people who thinks pets are disposable and you only keep them until you want something else. My son and I don't feel that way and are going to be looking out for Samantha and see that she is well cared for and well loved. You can count on it!
