Since my oldest was always trying my patience...I came up with something when I thought she was being dishonest. It was called "True Confessions Day" and on that day, you could confess anything you had done to clear your conscious and there would be no penalty...lol!
Today...my kids will tell you that it was just a trick that I pulled on them cuz, later I would know all of their lil' secret ways they used to get away with stuff... and, it worked!
