Thanks for the responses. A little background ... my son and daughter-in-law are divorced and my granddaughter lives with her mother, but spends a lot of time with her dad. They live close. My granddaughter wanted a puppy. Son was not for it, but fell in love with Samantha, of course. She wasn't quite six weeks old when they got her and I was scared to death. She's four years old now, weighs six pounds, and is very sweet. She will be spayed in the next couple of weeks. She is smart, minds good, and gets along well with everyone and both of my dogs. Potty training went down the drain when she came to my house, but we're working on it.

When they got the puppy, they lived in a house with a fenced yard. Now my son and ex-daughter-in-law both live in apartments. My ex-daughter-in-law didn't want to be bothered with Samantha (she's remarried now) and was talking about giving her away, which upset my granddaughter, so my son took her. Then last November, he started having bronchitis and asthma attacks and got really sick. His doctor thought it was because of the dog. I don't think so, but doctors don't agree that some dogs are hypoallergenic. Anyway, my son hasn't had any problems since Samantha has been with me, about five weeks now.

I am not able to keep Samantha and think she would be much better off in another home with someone that has more time for her. If anyone knows someone looking for a sweet little female Yorkie, please put them in touch with me. I will have her spayed and then she will be ready to go to a new home.

There will be lots of tears, even me, but I do believe it will be the best thing for all concerned.
