| Please Run Away... I know I have previously talked to you but just for anyone searching this thread for answers I am going to speak out once again about my experience.
I received the "runt" of the litter from her earlier litter this year. The sire is Kam-O and dam is Sunshine. Although, he is still small he has plenty of issues...PKR (please keep reading)! She claimed that she did do testing on the sire and I did not think to ask for the results and thus have no factual knowledge on that testing. Based off of my experience and I believe your email will corroborate my findings...She DOES NOT perform testing on her breeding stock. Yes, she does have some imported lines in her pedigree but that does not matter in my opinion because healthy parents canproducesickly children in animals and humans alike! And besides that if she could charge extra to potential owners for her having the peace of mind and selling genetically healthy pups...why not? (If I could make a few extra hundred $ from just having my dams and sires tested while also giving myself and new owner a peace of mind, I would do it! ) When I did business with her she did not have a scale and that was in January-March of 2011. (She could have bought one I suppose.) She would just give me an estimate of his weight and I truly did not know how accurate that was until she actually took him to the vet, just days before his arrival. So, I wouldn't count on this weight she has quoted. Also, another alarm is she is selling the "runt" for a higher price than the other siblings not knowing what health issues the pupmay have since she hasn't even been vaccinated nor Bile Acid Tested at that age. It seems as though she is trying to profit off of the size of the pup. I too have fallen in this pit...my Niko was the smallest of the litter. 2 boys and 2 girls. She charged me an extra 100$for him. I was searching for a male with a great personality and demeanor. I had a 50/50 chance and she told me the differences between the boys and so I paid that price. Well, I am willing to say she lied about his personality only to solidify a sale. One of the last things I will mention is she doesn't give a hoot about you or the pup she bred. Maybe since they are in kennels she doesn't have the same attachment as those breeders who raise their pups underfoot. She even told me that when Oklahoma had that bad snow storm last winter that she continued to allow the then 2-4 week old pups and parents stay outside in the kennel although the power was going on and off throughout the storm. At one point she stopped emailing me because the towers were down in her area. She just said her DH will check on them every few hours throughout the night. She has all of these "scam warnings" on her website almost to make you feel comfortable enough to trust you...then once you are lured she neglects you! She has not called to see how his pick up from the airport has gone, to see how he has adjusted, has not responded to my attempts at getting in contact with her...WHY you ask. Because I honestly believes she knows exactly how wrong she did me and most importantly Niko. He arrived with loose stools, thought this was flight related, but he continued to be lethargic and not interested in ANYTHING. Next morning he poops and I wiped his bottom and the entire tissue came up bloody. A lot of blood for a dog just shy of 2#. Vet was amazed at the lack of details the health certificate requirement had. (I live in FL and I believe we have just stricter health certificate requirements.) Well, long story short the vet told me he had a severe case of Coccidia and was concerned to even give any vaccinations for the next month! He saidwith his poor appetite and bloody stools it would be too much for him to handle. It took about 2 weeks for his stools to have a "firmer" appearance and about a month for it to be "regular". She didn't even respond to my attempts to inform her of this mess . My first vet visit I left with prescribed dog food and enough antibiotics for days. If you want to read the full story just visit my thread. Anyway, don't trust this breeder and don't allow the doting grandma demeanor fool you. She sounds sweet and innocent but as soon as she has a deposit that all will begin to change. She is a BUYER BEWARE! |
