Yes; phone by the bed (when you go to sleep is a must) in my books. We have two BRT's that are not crated at night (only Razz is for his safety). One time my hubby came home and I don't know why nobody heard him; but when he walked towards the bedroom door, all of a sudden I was jerked awake by three dogs barking, one of my brt's went through the door at a dead run, and then I heard back pedalling, and the ferocious barks turned to hi Daddy barks!. We do have our property posted as be bylaw; beware of dogs.
