Brush the toofers. The vet should always check the teeth when you go in because white teeth doesn't always mean much. Gum health is also an indicator of what's going on in there.
Also, if this is an adult tooth, xrays become quite a bit more important, so it's best to go to a vet that has dental xray capability.

Ok xrays and no on the petzlife! I will ask my vet just to see what she thinks! The place I shop at suggested it to me when I asked the what they had for bad breath. The one they offered me is actually a spray. Not a gel. I said I wanted to research first because the price was $26 for a very small bottle.
