I concur with 107barney.
Brush the toofers. The vet should always check the teeth when you go in because white teeth doesn't always mean much. Gum health is also an indicator of what's going on in there.
Also, if this is an adult tooth, xrays become quite a bit more important, so it's best to go to a vet that has dental xray capability.
And this is the second vet dentist I've heard of that does not agree with the use of Petzlife.
