My Brandy goes poddy on command outside as well as on a her poddy patch, which makes it so much easier. When she was a puppy I had a 6 ft leash attached to her and me. Wherever I went she did to, so no chance of her hiding to go pee in the house. I took her outside every half hour to start. Everytime I took her out, I would say "Lets go Poddy" Every time she went I would clap my hands and very excitedly say "Good Poddy" or "Good Poo" I looked like an idiot making a huge deal about it, but trust me, it worked. First thing in the morning, when I knew she had to go, I would take her and set her on the poddy patch and say "Lets go poddy" and I would not let her off until she did, then did the clapping and excited good poddy. I live on a 4th floor condo now and the poddy patch is outside on my deck. This is where she goes all the time. She is a year and a half and will go to the door when she needs to pee or poo. Whenever I have to leave her alone, right before I leave all I have to do is say lets go poddy, take her to the patch and she goes every time, right away. Same thing when we are outside. No waiting around, I say it, she goes. |
