So much has happened over the past few days! This is my first full day home, so I wanted to stop by and fill everyone in.
I don't even know where to begin! I will try to make this short enough so as not to be boring. Everyone knows my husband and I are still heartbroken over losing Darcy. There has not been one day that we have not cried over her, or found something in the house that was hers. She was such a big part of our lives, even though our time with her was too short. We have two beautiful boys, but things are not the same without our Darlin Girl.
I want to thank everyone for the cards, e-mails, FB posts, and all of the sweet things you have done for me here. Everyone has shared their stories with me, and offered advice.
Then, another miracle happened. Yt member Valerie Witscher contacted me, to tell me she had a little yorkie girl she thought would fit in well with our home. I asked her if she was sure probably three times, I was just bowled over that someone would be this generous with us.
Valerie e-mailed me several pictures of her, and I fell in love with her instantly. My husband asked for a few days to think it over, then he came home from work and said "ok". I had only a little more than a week to prepare for her. My wonderful friend Jodie, from
Home sent us a wonderful gift of 6 gorgeous dresses, and 2 nighties. Linda from Fu Fu Fashions sent her an embroidered blanket with her name on it
We made the trip to Georgia on Monday, had a fun night on the town, and picked Layla up on Tuesday. We visited our friend Sherryl later that day (not sure of her YT name), and went home on Wednesday!
Her name is Layla (we kept it). She will be called Layla Darlin, in honor of the first Diva that stole our hearts. She is 5# and 4 years old. She is a little shy, but is adapting pretty quick. Cooper is very curious of her, and I think they will make friends fast!
