Having new puppies is always a wonderful experience as we watch them grow up to adult dogs.
During that time we learn about them as they learn about us and we teach them a lot of new things to help them get through life.
We also teach them things which entertain us as new tricks are performed along with the discipline we demand in our home. All in all life is both entertaining and challenging as one attempts to out do the other.
The love we develop for our little treasures is just so special it is in itself unique and so strong.
My little girl Ruby is doing well now.
At 12 weeks she learned to sit at the kerbside when out walking. At just 14 weeks she learned to "Roll Over" to be rewarded with her beloved cheese. Last week she discovered even more cheese when she presented her first "High Five"
She is now fully house trained and will clearly tell us when she wants to do that which comes naturally by sitting at the door and giving her little Yap.
Today, at 16 weeks old and for the first time ever she made a clear leap up on to the sofa just to get a piece of cheese then jumped down again.
Ruby stands a full 8 inches tall with the sofa being 18 inches high.
One small step for man one giant leap for puppy kind.
Her brother Raggs (14 weeks old) is still in full education with his "potty training" coming along nicely. The only tricks he can do is to "Dance" on his back legs or sit on demand. His toilet training is doing well as we now only have the occasional accident when he has a pee and then attempts to hide under the table.
Can you remember all the wonderful "firsts" for you puppy ?
How about telling us all about them and how you managed to achieve the result you wanted.
