Thanks, that's a good idea but I don't think it'd be efficient either. I have one window that only opens about 10" then one in each bdrm. like the pic below. It's about 12-18" wider than my queen bed & probably 3.5-4' tall. So if I put anything in there I think it would leave too big an open space & be too hard to seal it.
What I just thought of is I wonder is there's something like you put in a car windshield to deflect the sun? It wouldn't be the prettiest, but this is no fashion show at this point, lol.
