I'm sorry to have to say, but I got so desperate with my 'hyper' yorkie that I got one of those electric bark collars. Didn't take her long to figure out how to shake it off to the side so she could still bark and not get zapped. I know it's mean, but I was at my wits end!! She finally would only be quiet if I brought out the fly swatter. Never actually had to use it - she just knew I meant business. In the end, though, I got so overcome by the incessant barking when I wasn't constantly carrying around the fly swatter that when my best friend offered to take her off my hands, I said "yes." It broke my heart. That was my first yorkie, and her name was "Ditto" - that was more than a dozen years ago, so you see she is still in my heart. I suffer from migraines and now own yorkies that are less hyper and have better manners. Some yorkies are just wound tighter and they can't help barking.
