Is the AC temp preset or can you adjust it? If you can't adjust it, take a damp towel and warm it in the microwave. Then hold it under the thermostate on your wall. The heat from the towel will make the AC come on colder.
Get thermal curtains and put up at the windows... should help to keep the heat out.
