I think the ad itself shows the intentions of the seller/breeder. One ad claimed age of 3, one claimed age of 4 - pedigree shows age of 5. This is a poor girl used for breeding who really is now too old to continue to breed, who instead of being sold neutered as a pet, is being sold (or bartered) as a breeder who consistently produces small pups.
I don't think the bartering in and of itself is the problem. It is the apparent disregard for the well-being of a little girl who should probably be scheduled for a spay and found a furever home for as a pet. I don't think reputable breeders treat pups like this (or misinform potential buyers about ages of dogs).
