Please give your opinions & input... This is a potentially very sticky situation but I feel it should not go ignored. My adult sister has had this bff for many years. The bff & her sis live at home with their parents. I've been to the house once a few years back-they have a lot of animals. Dogs, bunnies, cats, birds, snakes...most lacking urgent medical care at one time or another. My sis would tell me about their neglect & I would plead with her to try to persuade them to do the right thing. I had to tell my sis to not even tell me what she sees over there as I just couldn't handle it.
The two sisters recently moved back home from out of state so I have not been to the house in quite some time. One has a year-ish old child, the other a 6 month old. My mom went to see the babies & told me tonight that the 6 month old had red marks on his face. When she got home she asked my sis if he had a rash or something & she said no that "the beagle has bit him twice!"
I really feel like I need to report this to CPS stat, like tonight. Apparently my mom doesn't want to be involved & sadly I think my sis is too stupid. I did not witness it, I cannot even think of the parents names or exact address but know the street & last name. But doesn't someone need to step in for this baby? TWICE?? Obviously it has not received medical attn. as I can't imagine the baby would still be in the home, or the dog. I thought dog bites were extremely likely to cause infection, etc. & would think it would be much worse on an infant, on his face.
Do I have enough to call on? Is it for some reason not my place? Not sure if there's a 24 hour number so it may have to wait til morning, but I don't know.
