Wow what a morning for sure!
I know what you mean about those terrier instincts. Jackson is generally speaking very good off leash. But occasionally something kicks in and makes him book it and turn his ears off! We also live on a "farm" even though we only have 3 acres, our backyard is 90 acres of farmland leading to woods that we don't own. I have not taken Jackson's off leash privileges TOTALLY away yet. We work on recall a lot now, I have two 50 foot leashes and attach them together so he gets 100ft to roam and then I keep treats with me at all times and occasionally call him over. He's been listening 100% of the time lately so I think he'll get a chance to be off leash again this summer! Of course no where near roads. |
