Warning the first week, like when you have a newborn baby, is going to be really challenging and you're probably only going to get on average 3 hours of sleep per night. We crated Gizmo, and he cried the whole night, we were told "oh yeah, he'll stop" but he didn't until about the second week.
It's going to require alot of patience and complete structure and rotuine. Make sure you're going to bed at the same time every night and that you're consistant when when you take him out during the night and when you get up.
They do make a toy that they carry at Petsmart and Petco I believe that has a beating heart as well as one that you can microwave the inside and she can cuddle up with both.
If it's with a crate or xpen she's going to whine, so you have to be strong if that's what you want to do. But please remember a month from now it'll be worth the lack of sleep.
