Keeping you in my prayers. We had this same thing happen with one of our cats years ago. My husband was so attached to him and they were such buddies. He was 12 years old and we had boarded him to go on vacation. The vet called to tell us he was in kidney failure, we had no previous signs. We came home early to be with him. We brought him home with IV fluids and fed him with a baby spoon for a week. He also became very lethargic so we had to make the very heart wrenching decision to have him put to sleep.
