The premium dog foods are nutrient dense, thus much less is required than a lesser quality, corn-based kibble to meet the dog's nutritional needs.

However, the smaller quantity does not change the fat content of Ziwi Peak. It would still be 40% of your dog's diet. That is at least twice the amount of most kibbles.

While dogs appear not to suffer clogged arteries like humans, excessive fat can still be a serious health risk. It may trigger pancreatitis or exacerbate existing health conditions.

What foods have you tried with your little guy?
