I dont think you are. You can't help it that you love them so much. I can understand his point of view but everyone should respect how you feel. Even if they don't understand why or how you can be so attached. I've cancelled a few dates with my friends and have stood home since I got my puppy. I think the first week or so at a new home are so important. Everyone thinks I'm crazy but I don't care.
