We actually know someone who had a very small pup and was on the porch and watched a hawk get it and carry it off! Therefor, we've always been cautious not to let them wander far or go out alone. From what I hear, once the pups were safe and they had to deal with how to get the hawk off the porch, it was quite a funny site. Since both doors exiting the porch were locked from the inside, someone had to go out with the hawk to unlock one of them. They said my dad went out and hid behind a piece of craft poster board and a cookie sheet!
