Roxxy is having the procedure at Banfield. According to what I remember and the detail sheet that they gave me she will be getting IV fluids and will be hooked to ekg. She's supposed to get an injection of acepromazine and Butorphanol and I think she said Propaphol. They said the blood work will be done tomorrow. They are supposed to give her something called Rimadyl for the pain, they say it's like aspirin. I asked if this would be enough and and she said yes. I asked if I could get a prescription for more if she needed it and they said ok but said she'd only need it for a day. I don't know, I just don't believe that.

Since she goes to Banfield pet hosp, she's seen three Dr.s there. Most of the time she sees the same one. I asked all three about the dew claw. Two recommended removal and one said it wasn't necessary. The opinion in favor of seems to be that since it's only attached by skin, it could accidentally rip or become damaged. That's the only advice I had to go on so I figured it would be better to not take chances on future problems. I'm just not sure though-it sounds like you think she may not need to.

I called them and asked to speak with the Dr to answer my questions and they said they'd have her call before she goes home.
