How long ago was this?

Nope, no regrets whatsoever. Look at a picture of a pyometra removed from a dog and you won't have regrets either.

A lot of this sounds like vet issues more than spay issues.
The staff should have told you to fast her.
Stitches should be left in for 10-14 days.
Pain meds should have been given (were they?).
Also, if they are out of it for that long, I'd wonder 1) were pain meds given, 2) what anesthesia was used, and 3) is there an underlying health issue making anesthesia and/or pain meds harder on the dog. Was bloodwork done pre-spay? Has this pup ever had a bile acids test?

My girl was completely out of it the first day, then she started coming around. She was pretty snappy for a couple months while hormones regulared, but then returned to normal. She was spayed at age 6.
