My Sugar is the same. I just spent almost $900 on a spay and dental and immunizations for her. A week later? Tartar!
I brush daily and use a sealant. I also use a Sonicare toothbrush (newer addition to her routine) that is working wonders!!
Some dogs are prone to periodontal disease. Sugar is 3 pounds as well.
