YES Ive witnessed many patients of mine who have had rods placed and then broken. Sometimes they just detach themselves from the bone, other times they break completely, but nevertheless its painful. Unfortunately, nothing is ever 100%. I wish you a speedy recovery from this and to be pain-free soon!!
