I can't tell if you're doing anything wrong, bc we don't know what is causing him to have diarrhea. Could be stress, parasites, intestinal inflammation, or an upset tummy.
If it continues, I would have a vet look at him as puppies can dehydrate quickly from diarrhea. You could give him a 1/4 teaspoon of plain canned pumpkin with his meals may help to stop it, but I would still have the vet look him over.
