Default Moving from apartment to house... Potty training help needed!

Hey guys,

My little 5 yr old yorkie Guinness has been great in our apartment. We wee wee pad trained him from day one and he picked things up like a champ. Well, fast forward 5 years and we're now moving into a house. That means we're going from one floor with a wee wee pad to three.

As he's been running around the new house he's been randomly peeing in various places. He tends to favor door openings. So how should I approach this? Should I try to retrain him to go on the wee wee pad on one floor... Meaning if he's on the second floor he has to go to the first floor to pee? Can that even be done? Or should I have a wee wee pad on each floor?

I'm really anxious about this. I'm not used to having to look before I leap everywhere, in case he may have made a mess!

Before anyone asks, being at home at regular intervals to walk him and allow him to go outside is a luxury I don't really have. Sometimes I work from home and can walk him but other times I'm gone for about 8 hours.

All advice woukd be appreciated!
