Doing sub-q at home is never easy. Please visit yahoo groups K9 Kidney. Awesome support group and
DogAware.com: Diet & Health Info for Man's Best Friend is an excellent resource for links to supplements and information on CRF.
Home page - Thriving Pets has sub-q, needles, set-ups, supplements etc. at fairly decent prices. We got ours from our vet - with set up and needles fairly inexpensively. Most good vets will not charge you to go in and learn from either the doc or techs how to admin at home. Finding the right spot (there are only a few) - warming the fluids (by soaking in warm water or heating pad - never microwave), testing to be sure fluid is only tepid - not hot or too warm; these are all things that go along with sub-q at home. It was so difficult for us at first. Our little Gizzy was so brave as was my hubby who admin'd. My heart goes out to you for what you are both going through right now. Feel free to msg me if you would like but please check out the sites I have mentioned. Wishing you love, light and healing...
