I asked the vet about an allergy test he said to try testing his food first and if he still does it they can test him for dust allergies.
I switched him to this food Blue Buffalo - All Natural and Organic Lamb Based Adult Dog Food dry and wet plus a few blue buffalo treats. I was trying to cut out chicken to see maybe it was that flavor he was allergic to.
the vet also said to give him benadryl but i haven't tried that yet. |
I'm pretty sure you can do both with the coconut oil, someone back up in the thread mentioned how to use it. The Zymox I put the link for works well and I think the small bottle is like $15, so not too bad. Ok, the Blue food is lamb, that's what I was wondering - well, if it's a food allergy you're right for getting away from chicken first and ya, it can take a while to see a difference. I'd give the Benadryl a try if he's really uncomfortable, it should take down any inflamation so it may help.
