I've never witnessed a seizure caused by hypoglycemia so I can't say what they're like. But they would be caused by excessively low blood sugar levels. These are mostly preventable by feeding often and keeping blood sugar levels stable.

Epileptic seizures are caused by electrical signals in the brain, and seizure symptoms can vary by dog. Medications like Phenobarbital are used to lesson/control seizures when possible. If a dog with epileptic seizures goes too long without treatment, brain damage or death can result.
